Philosophy of Practice

We believe that our success is marked by clients who have a sense of accomplishment and well-being after tackling the challenges facing them. We want to help our clients control, to the greatest extent possible, the outcome of their circumstances, whatever they may be. Thoughtful planning often avoids problems down the road, but even if life has thrown up a roadblock, planning is still the proper tool for navigating onward. Each client brings us unique issues. We craft a unique approach by carefully listening to the client, thoroughly researching all aspects of the issues, and bringing the knowledge of the law and decades of practical experience together. Once a plan is developed, we remain engaged in assuring effective implementation. We strive to see our clients content and secure in what we have done and knowing that we will be here when they need us again.

Listening to the client

Very often when someone seeks legal help, they know that they need help but they do not necessarily know what kind of help or why. Our initial conversation focuses on listening and reflecting on what the client is saying. The conversation helps us understand the client and her/his priorities and concerns, and helps the client understand the context and extent of the issues. Good planning requires understanding and participation by the attorney and the client.

Researching all aspects for our client

When working with a client to develop a plan for resolving issues, our attorneys do the necessary legal research as well as fieldwork to become thoroughly informed. In real estate transactions, for instance, do not be surprised if we make a visit and walk the property. Viewing property often explains problems and issues more effectively than hours of discussion, and sometimes viewing the property suggests a resolution that might be otherwise overlooked. With complete research we can provide clients with the most efficient and effective options in reaching their goals.
